George Staveland
CROW — A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, at Gates Cemetery for George Staveland of Crow, who died July 25 of amyloidosis. He was 87.
A reception will follow.
He was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Bremnes, Norway, to Ole and Laura Ask Staveland. He married Lorna Crook on Sept. 26, 1943, in Hillsboro.
He graduated from Smith River High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. He worked in the timber, trucking, and real estate industries.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Judy Hillman and Kathy Johnson, both of Crow, and Patti Gates of Mapleton; a sister, Edna Folkerts of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice.
